Smooth tension is the mood for Tim Ingram’s laptop, keyboard and occasional guitar project. “Between Joy” falls somewhere near the clouds and a grounded quick-paced percussive dance. Long chords are sliced and diced with intersecting melodies and slow drum kicks and often more intricate play. What at first feels like melancholy unfolds into oftentimes soaring affirmation in cuts such as “Awake and Sleeping.”
Ingram’s concept comes into its full force with “Natvardsgasterna” where tracks melt together in a Scandinavian landscape of light, landscape and storm. “Swept” kicks it back with a more traditional space music temperature and “Plattenbauten Palast” reminds of Music for Airports.
“I Still Hope” and “Zvenya” tack a little darker and good be used as a backdrop for indie urban scenes, intros and exit credits. On the whole, much here is a natural fit for online applications, games and advertising.
Key Tracks: Your Wings Make Me Fly, Natvardsgasterna, I Still Hope, Zvenya
